This itinerary offers an engaging journey through technology and science, highlighting the history and key figures that have made Granollers a significant center for industrial and scientific development.
We will begin with an immersive experience at the Thermal Power Plant, delving into pivotal moments of the technological revolution that shaped the city. Through the visit titled "Protagonists of Change," visitors will travel back in time to meet the key figures who pioneered the first major advancements in energy use, from steam-powered systems to modern processes. This segment not only provides an understanding of industrial history but also sheds light on the personal stories of the workers at the Thermal Power Plant, offering a human perspective on technological progress.
Following this, the tour continues to the Museum of Natural Sciences of Granollers, located in La Tela, where we will explore the connection between energy and nature. This museum provides an in-depth look at natural phenomena and regional biodiversity, linking scientific knowledge with today's environmental challenges. SCHEDELE
If you are arriving by coach, drop-off is available at Roca Umbert Fàbrica de les Arts, entering via C. Lluís Companys 1-5.If you arrive on foot, you can access the site through any of its five entrances.
OPTIONAL 10:30 - 11:00 AM: Participants may choose to start the visit with a coffee break at the Roca Umbert bar before the tour begins.
11:00 AM – Meeting with the guide at the façade of the Thermal Power Plant
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM – Immersive visit exploring the energy history of the Roca Umbert factory and its role in the industrial development of Granollers.
12:00 PM – Visit to the Granollers South Heating Network
1:00 PM – End of the visit and farewell with the guide.
2:00 PM – Free lunch break. Participants can choose to dine at local restaurants or enjoy a picnic at Roca Umbert.

If visiting during the winter season, you can conclude your visit at Roca Umbert by watching the projection mapping show on the façade of the Thermal Power Plant, scheduled at 5:30 PM and 7:00 PM. Be sure to check the schedule, as this event only takes place in winter.
